Here are some ideas to help make you and the images look top-notch.
Couples make sure you match the overall “feel” of each other’s outfit. If one is dressed up, make sure the other looks a bit nicer with a button up shirt, maybe a sport jacket. If your rockin’ some jeans and heels, a nice polo, some cool kicks, and a matching newsboy hat, all look great together.
Families, try to keep in the same genre of style for every member. Mom and dad won’t look as nice all dressed up when the kids are sporting t-shirts and sneakers. Try not to look too “matchy”. One thing to remember is they don’t have to be the exact same color. The same color family will work well. (Red-Grey-Silver-Khaki-Denim or Blue-White-Khaki-Yellow or Brown-Tan-Red-Denim)
Ladies, try wearing a different color undershirt with your dress or top for an extra pop of color. Add a light weight jacket or cardigan, tie it off with a skinny belt. Fellas, sport jackets go a long way, so will a different color solid shirt under your button up. Nubby sweater, tweedy scarf, fur vest, textures add dimension.
Ladies, fashionable jewelry from necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, handbands, a simple scarf, etc. can bring more personality to your photos. Guys, match your belt to your shoes. A fashionable hat or striped socks can be fun. Please, please bring your best shoes for the session, nothing breaks a photo more than a beat-up pair of shoes. Feel free to go shoe less as well. 🙂
